Are you sick and tired of working for the man? Does taking orders from sniveling fools who can barely add cream to their coffee if left alone drive you NUTS? Do you wake up to the world’s most irritating sound…an alarm clock?

I can show you exactly how I escaped the tedium and suffering of the rat race, and how I am now happily building the life of my dreams from home. I am going to tell you what I discovered and how you too can escape the degrading boredom of being just another employee if you so choose.
Firstly, a little slice of who I am and where I am coming from.
My name is Garfield Herriot, I am 33 years old and I live in the gorgeous province of British Columbia Canada. As I stated earlier, I was once just like you. A few years ago I had a job as a supervisor in a local video store. I would wake up before I was ready to, thanks to my harsh, penetrating alarm clock, and the first thing I would do is desperately convince myself that it would be worth getting out of bed. After that failed, the feeling of fear and obligation would set in as I realized that I had bills, that someone would have to be called in to the store if I didn’t show up, and that I would simply starve to death without food. ’If only I had enough sleep last night, this would be so much easier’, I would think to myself….daily. Unfortunately, life in the rat race doesn’t always lend itself to proper rest.
Once I got my brekky (if time allowed) put on my polyester blend uniform, donned my respectable plastic name badge, and grabbed my bus tickets it was time to wait around in the cold for one of my THREE buses that I would need to catch to get me to work on time. Public stinking transit, something I will NEVER miss.
Once at work, it was one mundane, tedious task after another, day in and day out, the same, same, same thankless duties. Very little pay, very little recognition, very little hope. ’Maybe one day I can be store manager, or district manager’, I would contemplate. Thinking about how I could keep going up the corporate ladder and yet deeper into hell was not inspiring me to stick around much longer. And guess what? I was basically being told how much money I was allowed to make (what I was worth), when I had to begin work, when I was allowed to eat, when I could have a break and when I could stop working and take filthy public transit home again.
One day I had enough. I was miserable, exhausted, and completely fed up. I was in a dark, sad, lonley place and I felt like a complete waste of space. I hated taking orders, I hated waking up to an alarm clock, and I really hated being broke.
It was right around that time one of my regualar customers came in and offered me two free tickets to something called the ‘Millionaire Mind Intensive’ happening very soon, and very near by. I booked the shift off work and spent the weekend having my mind totally blown wide open by possibility and knowledge. I learned a few critical things at this intesive weekend:
- I was a shocking money manager
- My financial ‘thermostat’ was set embarrassingly low
- All my beliefs surrounding money came from someone else, rather than my own experiences, I had been programmed
It became painfully clear that I had no idea what to do with money, and I was its slave. I was never going to make any more money because my beliefs had me glued to the floor with regards to how much I percieved I was ‘worth’.
‘Oh no, I thought, I am broke and miserable and going nowhere because that’s how I chose to live my life’. Ouch. ’You mean, now I have to take FULL responsibility for every failure and mistake I’ve ever made?’, darn it. I could no longer blame society, the government, my schools, my friends, my parents, my health, my education or my pet cat for all my mistakes. Something strange happened then, I began analyzing my past errors and calculating how I could ‘correct and continue more intelligently’
As it turned out, there was heaps I didn’t know. And so closed a dark and stormy chapter on my life as I was reborn an entrepreneur! I became an insatiable student of business, money, and personal growth. I began attending as many personal and professional development courses as I could. I began to learn all I could about marketing and promotion and the psychology behind why people buy or don’t buy.
It was at this time that I tried my hand at online business and network marketing. I fell victim to a couple online scams.which cost me a few thousand dollars that I didn’t have. I also simultaneously got chewed on by the MLM industry and humiliated by their dodgy, old school ‘marketing’ methods like making a ridiculous ‘friends and family list’, going to hotel meetings, cold calling leads, giving away free products…which I paid for?!?!
Now I was at another major hurdle. How are so many people being so successful at the businesses I am failing at? What am I missing? I knew there had to be a better way and I became obsessed with finding it. I was quickly rocketing toward bankruptcy and creating a scary amount of debt.
Thankfully my diligence and perseverance paid off. I finally discovered that I was going about business completely backwards. Recruit my mom and dad into a business? How embarassing. I took a three month sabattical from struggling to grow a successful business so that I could come back and cut out the ’struggling’ component. After weeks and weeks of research I finally knew what I was after and what to look for.
Here’s what I was no longer willing to do:
- Bother my friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers
- Cold call leads
- Attend hotel meetings
- Host house parties in my home
- Sell and convince people what a great opportunity network marketing is
- Give away ‘freebies’.
- Have belly to belly meetings where I discuss the compensation plan and the founders
- Pay for leads
- Sell people on the opportunity
- Pay for auto ship
Whatever opportunity I found next was going to have to kill my past opportunities and be completely automated. My new opportunity must have:

- A professional call center to follow up with my leads and close intitial sales for me.
- Sales copy that tells and sorts my prospects for me before I ever speak with them

- HUGE up front commissions AND stong residual income potential
- A community that focuses on cultivating Leaders
- A timely product line that is unique and valuable

- No AUTOSHIP!
Wow, Garfield, that’s a pretty tall order. No doubt. You know what the most awesome part is?
I found it.
There are actually opportunities to fulfill my needs and desires as a success-minded entrepreneur! And I didn’t have to re-invent the wheel (which I tried to do plenty in the past!).
I actually found an opportunity that met all my criteria. Now today, I have no boss anywhere to be seen. I work when and where I want to. I decide how much money I make, when I eat, who I work with, and whether or not to use an alarm to wake up to…..I hate alarms and I am proud to say that I only use one now if I have a plane to catch!
